Greetings Channahon UMC Family and Friends,

 

May Newsletter – submission date for all events, details, changes, updates etc for the May Newsletter is due today – April 23^rd, please.  Newsletter will be out on April 30^th .

UWFaith  –  UWF Reading club  – has started a new book ‘All My Rage’ by Sabaa Tahir – discussion will be Wednesday, May 28^th at 6pm room 145 – Please see Anita Young or call the office if a ZooM link is needed.

The United Women in Faith “Plants, Gardens & The Great Outdoors” sale during the Village Garage Sales is right around the corner –  Thurs.-Fri., May 1-2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will benefit missions for women, children and youth. 

We are looking for donations of garden and outdoor plants, houseplants, and any gently used item you might use to maintain or enjoy your outdoor space.  This is your chance to thin out overgrown perennials like hostas and daylilies and put those extras to a beautiful use somewhere else.  What about those garden tools, planters, lawn chairs, or bird feeders you don’t use anymore… Donations can be dropped off on Wednesday, April 30^th  1p to 7pm

Sunday May 18^th –  Last day of Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher Appreciation AND Graduate Sunday – If anyone has a graduate in their household (kindergarten, 8^th grade, high school, college, trade school or military) please fill out the form and submit it to the church office by Tuesday, May 6^th.  We hope all our students and teachers can be present that day at church to receive the honor that is due. (Printed forms are also available in the Narthex).

VBS 2025 (Combined with MUMC)– ‘True North” – save the date – July 20-24, with a celebration day at the Channahon Pool on July 25.  More info to come!

Prayers for Sandy & Steve Yenerich. Sandy is still not well after her fall on Friday, trying to help Stan out of the car, the wind took them both down. She has a concussion and stitches. Stan is ok.

Martha Ulmer – prayers for Tom Koscik, having surgery for kidney stones and they found a mass in his kidney.

Dottie Priddy – Prayers for my friend Patti, facing terminal cancer.

Kris Hayden – continued prayers for my dear friend’s family, helping their son through drug addition.  Prayers for my cousin’s husband Dan, with complications from routine procedure, nowon ventilator and broken ribs.

Prayers for all who face challenges, illness, recovery, grief, and hardships. Find strength through God’s grace and his Word of promises. You are being prayed for.

Wow – close to 100 kids at our Egg-stravaganza Egg Hunt on Saturday – Thank you to all who helped and supported this event – It was a huge success.

Jackie Goggins – Happy to be home! Thank you all for the many cards, calls and prayers.  We so appreciate them all.
