Greetings Channahon UMC Members, Families and Friends.
Romans 5:1-3 We have been made right with God because of our faith. So we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through our faith, Christ has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory. And we also have joy with our troubles because we know that these troubles produce patience, strength assurance and perseverance.
Facing a difficult time or uncertain test? Then praise God! Under His wise control, everything that happens to us, whether enjoyable or painful, is designed to develop our faith and perseverance. (Richard Dehaan)

Kids Jingle Jam – is THIS Friday Dec 12th – 5:30pm to 8pm – Parents Night Out – Please sign up the kids and enjoy some time shopping in peace! Sign up is in the Narthex or call the church office – kids 3yr old and older are welcome. Invite their friends to come join the fun (food, games, crafts, movie and more!!)
January 2026 Newsletter – submission date is December 16th Please – Newsletter will be out by December 23rd – Thank you.
Christmas Poinsettia plant orders – are due next Wednesday 12/17 – forms to order and dedicate are in the Narthex – or in the Dec. Newsletter.
Kids Sunday School – Thrift Shop Christmas Gift Shopping is this Sunday Dec. 14 During Sunday School hour. No adult SS – adults can help kids shop and wrap gifts.
Winter Food Drive Collection was this past Sunday – but if you didn’t get a chance to bring in items, you can do so by this Sunday and Janet will make another delivery.
Stewardship/Finance – Thank you to everyone who has prayerfully considered their 2026 Giving Pledge and have returned their pledge cards. If you have not, kindly do so this week. Extra cards and envelopes are in the Narthex above the wooden collection box on the wall.
CUMC Christmas Choir Cantata and Fellowship Potluck Brunch – is Sunday, December 21st – Sign up in the narthex or call the church office if you plan to attend and what dish you can share (side dish, salad or dessert) –
There will be an ‘UGLY SWEATER’ contest – so dig out those holiday bests!!
Outreach Giving Tree – with wish-list tags to support the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham IL. Grab a tag and return the item(s) under the tree! Monetary donations can be given – mark as “Midwest”
Christmas Season Postcard Invites – are available in the Narthex – pick some up and invite family and friends : Blue Christmas, Christmas Choir Cantata, Christmas Eve Candlelight
Coffee Hour Fellowship Sign Up – 2026 dates sign up are in the Narthex if you’d like to give Cathy & Ray Breen time off, and cover the after church Coffee Fellowship hour.

Our ON-LINE PRAYER WALL is on our church website too – leave a prayer, say a prayer – visit everyday – let those who have left a prayer know you have prayed

Dawn & Ray Brick – prayers for a very dear friend, Joyce Urbancik who fell and broke her femur. Surgery went well. Prayers for healing.
Christy Juarez – so glad I was able to visit my best friend in KY over thanksgiving. Prayers for Declan with a follow-up MRI tomorrow and sees the oncologist on Friday – needing a good report!
Sandy Foder – prayers for a family member who had to have surgery and is still in the hospital for this week.
Prayers for Cindy Pappas with health concerns and testing.
